Health, Hope, Humanity

— How Soham Seva Sansthan is Bringing Care to the Margins

Health is a basic human right — yet, for thousands of underprivileged families, especially in rural and slum areas, access to even primary healthcare remains a distant dream. At Soham Seva Sansthan, we believe that no one should suffer or die just because they were born in poverty.

That’s why we run regular free health camps and awareness drives in underserved communities — reaching those who are often neglected by mainstream systems. Our aim is simple yet powerful: to create a healthier, more informed, and more dignified society.

What Happens in Our Health Camps?

Each health camp is a lifeline for many. With the help of volunteer doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and community health workers, we provide:

  • Free check-ups (general health, BP, sugar, etc.)

  • Women’s health consultations

  • Child nutrition screening

  • Distribution of life-saving medicines

  • Eye check-ups and cataract referrals

  • Health awareness sessions on hygiene, diet, menstrual health, and lifestyle diseases

In many cases, this is the first time someone is meeting a qualified doctor in their life.

Real Impact on Real Lives

Meet Ramesh, a 62-year-old rickshaw driver in Vrindavan. He had been suffering from blurred vision and headaches for over a year but couldn’t afford to see a doctor. At one of our camps, we diagnosed him with high blood pressure and early-stage cataract. He was referred for free surgery, and today, Ramesh is back to work with a smile.

Or Kusum, a 14-year-old girl who attended one of our menstrual hygiene awareness sessions. She had been missing school due to stigma and lack of access to sanitary pads. Today, she’s not only attending school confidently but also helping spread awareness among her peers.

These stories aren’t rare — they’re daily realities we strive to change.
