Every great mission begins with a single heartbeat of compassion—and sometimes, that heartbeat is born from witnessing someone else’s pain.”
As a grassroots NGO in India, our journey reflects the power of faith-driven service. Led by the vision of Shri H.C. Sharma, Soham Seva Sansthan has evolved from a personal promise into a regional movement of hope.
The Seed of Realization
The story did not begin in an office, but on the dusty streets of Alwar. Our founder encountered a family sitting in silent despair; they hadn’t seen a warm meal in days. In that moment, a profound truth became clear: Devotion to the Divine is incomplete without service to the hungry. With a single stove, the first meals were prepared.
The Struggle Phase (Testing Our Faith)
In the early days, resources were limited and the scale of hunger seemed overwhelming. There were nights we wondered if the kitchen fires would stay lit. But this struggle birthed our core philosophy: “Ek Bharoso Shree Ji Ko” (One Faith in Shree Ji). We learned that when the intent is pure, the resources follow.
Expansion to the Braj 84 Kos
As our roots grew in Alwar, we turned toward the sacred groves of Braj. We saw that the elderly widows and saints in Govardhan and Vrindavan were often forgotten. We expanded our reach, carrying the spirit of Alwar’s service into the heart of the 84 Kos circuit to ensure no seeker goes hungry.
The Birth of Shree Haridas Rasoi
What started with a single meal is now serving 500–700 hot, Sattvic meals every single day. Our dedicated community kitchen, Shree Haridas Rasoi, has become a beacon of dignity for laborers, orphans, and the elderly. Even today, many are still waiting for help, and our mission continues to grow to meet that need.
What started as a small effort to serve the hungry has grown into a mission to bring dignity, care, and opportunity to those who need it most. At Soham Seva Sansthan, we believe that even the smallest act of compassion can transform lives and build a better tomorrow.
In the early days, our work was simple — distributing food to hungry individuals and supporting those who had no one to rely on. We witnessed the harsh realities of life — hunger, helplessness, and lack of basic necessities. These experiences didn’t just move us — they shaped our purpose. We realized that even small efforts, when done consistently, can transform lives.
The journey of Soham Seva Sansthan began with a deep realization — that many elderly individuals, widows, and underprivileged families struggle daily for basic necessities like food, clothing, and medical care. Witnessing this reality inspired us to take action, not just to help, but to bring dignity, support, and hope into their lives. Because behind every need, there is a human story waiting to be heard.
-Families going to bed hungry
-Elderly individuals without support
-Children lacking access to care and opportunities
